The Met4Tech team celebrated the success of the project at the final NICER Programme Circular Economy showcase event on 25 September 2024 at Church House, Westminster.
The NICER programme is the UK’s largest circular economy research endeavour and has funded five CE Centres (chemicals, textiles, minerals, metals, technology metals) and a coordinating CE-Hub with a £30 million investment from Defra and UKRI since 2020.
The event attended by business leaders, SMEs, policy makers, researchers and academic experts from across the NICER Programme was to celebrate the achievements and impact of the last four years of interdisciplinary research and collaborative activities, and to look ahead at what’s next for the circular economy in the UK.
Early career researchers from the Met4Tech team took part as speakers and panellists on the day including Dr Jyoti Ahuja (University of Birmingham, School of Law), Dr Eva Marquis (University of Exeter, Camborne School of Mines), Dr Wan-Ting Hsu (British Geological Survey), Dr Krishna Mohan TV (University of Exeter, Business School) and Dr Gavin Harper (University of Birmingham, School of Metallurgy and Materials).
The team also had an interactive exhibition stand showcasing materials, posters and videos highlighting the circular economy in technology metals.
